Altiva Software Announces Alliance with Lochner, Inc.
September 13, 2007 (Houston, TX) — Altiva Software announces that it has formed an alliance with HW Lochner, Inc. (Lochner), a nationally recognized transportation engineering firm.
Lochner will incorporate CADconform® — Altiva's software add-on that works seamlessly between MicroStation® and AutoCAD® to promote and enforce 100% conformance to CAD standards — into its engineering and consulting service offerings to its transportation clients, who are typically state and local departments of transportation (DOT).
As part of its consulting services, Lochner implements CAD standards and related work processes to improve the efficiency and operations for their clients’ engineering and drafting departments. Initiated from its Salem, Oregon office in their Western region, Lochner will offer CAD compliance solutions complementing CADconform® to clients nationwide.
- It has the flexibility and adaptability that lets users easily manage and work with multiple sets of standards, which will be an asset for Lochner's 26 nationwide offices and many clients, requiring multiple sets of local, state and federal CAD standards.
- It provides a single CAD-standards-management solution for both MicroStation and AutoCAD.
"Like many others, the transportation industry is under pressure to find more efficiency and cost effectiveness in its delivery of information, specs and plans," explained Lochner Western Region VP Karen Reynolds. "Lochner has always been about innovation and integrity. This alliance with Altiva and the CADconform offering, is another way of serving our clients and the transportation industry as a whole, bringing them the latest cutting-edge technology to solve the problems that will transform our industry."
Lochner has longed recognized the efficiency and cost-savings that CAD standards can bring to an organization, but also heard from its clients how time-consuming and complex standards management and conformance can be without the right tools. So consulting in this area combined with the right technology is seen as a real value-added and much needed service.
"By incorporating CADconform into its advanced service offerings and making it available to their clients, Lochner is demonstrating how fast and easy 100% CAD standards conformance can be," commented Altiva Software CEO Philip Hurlston. "Ultimately they are helping these clients to realize the business value of standards-conformed data — such as improved communication, interoperability and project management, and elimination of rework — faster and more efficiently."
