Dannenbaum Chooses Altiva Software's CADconform

February 28, 2007 (Houston, TX) — Altiva Software announces that Dannenbaum Engineering, a Texas-based consulting engineering firm, has chosen CADconform® software to promote and enforce its CAD data standards.

Dannenbaum was introduced to CADconform through one of its clients, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO). As part of its efforts to meet federal government reporting requirements, METRO has begun using CADconform to check drawing files submitted by all of its architect and engineering (AE) contractors for conformance to METRO design standards. Drawings that do not conform 100% to METRO's design standards are returned to the contractor for unpaid rework.

Dannenbaum easily saw the value in purchasing CADconform and using the same advanced computing technology as its customer to do the checking and conformance themselves, before submitting drawings to METRO.

Armed with the preconfigured METRO standards (which METRO gives to all of its contractors) and because CADconform is so easy to install, configure and use (the Transportation drafters were trained in 1 hour), Dannenbaum quickly began drafting, checking, fixing and certifying to METRO design standards.

The company realized how easily its staff could use CADconform to achieve the same level of efficiency and 100%-conformance quality for all of its clients. CADconform can handle unlimited sets of CAD standards, and drafters can quickly and easily switch between client projects and associated standards.

Dannenbaum is currently implementing CADconform for its Land Development Department, and was also pleased to discover that the latest version of CADconform is the only software that includes the National CAD Standard (NCS), an important feature for the broad scope of industrial, transportation and infrastructure projects that the company provides to private industry and to local, state and federal governments.

"CADconform has been a valuable find and crucial new technology to help Dannenbaum continue its philosophy of providing quality engineering and service," remarked Jamie Montgomery, Dannenbaum Director of Information Systems. "And the support we received from the Altiva team was first rate. Any concerns or questions we had were addressed consistently and in a timely fashion, helping us to start reaping the benefits of CADconform right away."

"Quality technical support is a high priority to us," said Altiva Software CEO Philip Hurlston. "Now more than ever, customers of engineering firms demand higher quality data. Using CADconform, companies like Dannenbaum can actually reduce costs while improving efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. These benefits can start immediately – it's important that we help our customers achieve that."
